## Summary

According to the Bank of Mexico's (Banxico) Encuesta Mensual de Actividad Económica Regional (EMAER), 48.5% of Mexican establishments with more than 100 employees used at least one AI technology in June 2026, up from 24.3% in September 2025. Among companies planning to use AI within three years, 32.6% expect headcount to increase, while 20.5% plan reductions. Currently, 67.5% of companies using AI report no significant change in employment. On productivity, 60.2% expect a positive effect within three years, compared with 39.1% who see one today. Adoption varies widely by size: 69.9% for companies with more than 1,000 employees, against 43.7% for those with 101 to 250 employees. The article compares these results with an international study (Firm Data on AI) conducted in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Australia, where expectations of productivity gains and job reductions are more modest.
